5% customs duty
Bags from China pay 5% Gulf customs duty, worked out on their value plus freight and insurance. We pay it at import.
5% VAT
The UAE charges 5% VAT on imported goods, and we pay that at import too. The price on your quote is the price you pay, and nothing arrives with a bill attached.

Dubai has banned single-use bags thinner than 57 microns since 1 June 2024, paper included. Since 1 January 2026 the whole country bans single-use bags thinner than 50 microns, whatever they are made of. The exemptions are narrow, mainly thin plastic roll bags for meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and bread, and bin bags.
Our paper bags with handles start at 80gsm, about 0.1mm thick, so they clear both limits. So do SOS bags, from 70gsm, and every cotton, non-woven, insulated and thermal bag. Food grade bags (35 to 50gsm) and compostable bags (18 to 25 microns) are thinner than both limits. We do not supply them as carrier bags in the UAE.

Do you deliver to the UAE with duty paid?
Yes. To your door anywhere in the UAE, with the 5% customs duty and the 5% VAT paid by us at import. The price on your quote is final.
Are paper bags allowed under the UAE bag rules?
Yes, above the thickness limits. Dubai bans single-use bags thinner than 57 microns, and the federal rule bans those under 50 microns. Our bags with handles start at 80gsm paper, about 0.1mm thick, so they clear both. Food grade and compostable bags are thinner, so we do not supply them as carrier bags in the UAE.
How long does shipping to the UAE take?
12 to 18 days by sea to Jebel Ali, then one to two weeks for clearance and delivery to your door. By air it is 5 to 8 days door to door. Production takes three weeks before either starts.
Do you deliver elsewhere in the Gulf?
Yes. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain are delivered the same way, by sea to Dammam, Doha or the nearest port. Your quote names the route and the duty.
What is the smallest order?
1,000 units for kraft, laminated and cotton bags. 5,000 for non-woven, insulated, thermal and SOS bags and pouches. 10,000 for food grade and compostable bags.
