General questions live in the full FAQWhat does SOS stand for?
Self Opening Sack. Pull the bag and the pre-glued block bottom pops open square in one motion, which is exactly why fast food counters run on it.
Why does it have no handles?
Speed and cost. It folds flat, stacks in a dispenser, opens square with one snap and stands on its own while you fill it. That is the whole design.
Can it hold greasy pastries?
Greaseproof options exist for exactly this. Tell us the menu and we spec the paper.
Will hot food go soggy inside?
Less than in anything plastic. Paper breathes, so steam escapes and crusts stay crisp, which is why bakeries never left this bag.
Can I print it in my brand colours?
Up to four colours, Pantone matched, across the whole face.
Can I use SOS bags for California's paper bag law?
Yes. California stores can hand out recycled paper bags. An SOS bag in 40% post-consumer kraft meets the rule until the end of 2027, and 50% kraft meets it from 2028. Each bag is printed with the details the law requires. Paper bags with handles made in China pay a US anti-dumping duty, and the SOS bag has no handles. Our plastic bag bans guide has the full rule.
Where are the bags made?
In China, through specialist production facilities, and every run is quality checked before it ships.
Do I see a sample before the full run?
Yes, always. A printed pre-production sample is $250 and you approve it before the machines start. The $250 comes back in full when you place the order.
The rest of the range.
